Wifey taking a pic of me at Creswell Crags, 2014 (on the way to Northumbria)

In 2014 we did our big "Northumbria Trip", which included other places too on the way. Going north, we stopped at Worksop to see Creswell Crags, which is famous for the limestone gorge with the cliffs in the ravine which contains several caves that were occupied during the last ice age, between around 43,000 and 10,000 years ago. Its caves contain the northernmost cave art in Europe. The cave art is rather faded and difficult to make out, and it is nowhere near the quality of examples in Europe (some of which I had also seen), but the examples at Creswell Crags are still impressive with their uniqueness and beautiful natural surroundings. We enjoyed it, and the coffee was good too in the café next to it. (There is a video clip of Wifey in the video gallery showing her walking towards the caves with the group.)
