Pre-Raphaelite beauties - Rossetti's Lizzie and my Thelma

From László on 2nd June 2022 Pre-Raphaelite beauties - Rossetti's Lizzie and my Thelma

Thelma was - in my eyes - a Pre-Raphaelite beauty. I always thought, and told her, that she could have been painted by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. In this pairing of pictures, on the right, it is a symbolic tribute painting by Rossetti to his wife, Elizabeth Siddal, after her death (the picture is called ‘Beata Beatrix’ - a Dante reference). Thelma's long slender neck, facial proportions and harmony and naturally curly hair, which had a slight reddish tint (matching her green eyes) is a definition of Pre-Raphaelite aesthetics. She was always conscious of her "frizzy" hair, but I loved her look just like this here. (I took this picture of Thelma in Venice.)
