Szigliget Castle, Western Hungary, 2005

The castle has been much renovated since (in the late 2010s and early 2020s). It was one of the forts/castles the Ottomans were unable to take during their occupation of much of Hungary. We enjoyed our visit even before the new renovations (there is a video clip from here as well among the videos). As with every place we ever went to, it was Thelma's presence that made it a beautiful experience for me. The castle is on top of an extinct volcano on the northern shore of Lake Balaton.
