Aerial view of Brassó in Transylvania (Romanian: Brasov)

From László on 3rd November 2022 Aerial view of Brassó in Transylvania (Romanian: Brasov)

A picture from the internet, which clearly shows several of the places where we stayed and walked about with my darling Thelma in 2009. We stayed in a guest house close to the foot of the mountain towards the top left of the city in this picture. This city was Hungarian (originally with a large Saxon community and some Romanians) and belonged to Hungary for many centuries, before Transylvania was ripped away from Hungary after the First World War. The Romanians have done their best/worst to make it Romanian and erase the memory of Hungary. This picture also shows the famous Black Church (blackened by a big fire) above the central square. The excellent cellar restaurant (see its interior in the previous picture), where I took the picture of Thelma at the table (two clicks/pictures back), is on the bottom right street further below this picture next to a roundabout. Name and address: Restaurant Sergiana, Muresenilor Street, No 28, Brasov 500030 (This was less than a couple of weeks before my heart attack, when Thelma again showed her wonderful loyalty.)
