One of our best trips - and, exceptionally, there are quite a few pictures of Thelma from this trip (she always tried to prevent me taking pictures of her) ... Here we visited the spa cave of Tapolca in Western Hungary (see our clumsy adventure in this cave among the video clips, called: "up the creek without a paddle in a cave ..." This is a 3 km long lake cave system, situated in the heart of the town, 15–20 m below ground level. It is mostly filled with karst water. The cave was discovered in 1903 during well digging. The cave air is used to cure respiratory diseases in the branches under the town hospital. Small boats can be hired to explore the cave system. That's what we did. We found it amusing that a French couple in front of us nearly capsized, and then Thelma dropped the oar, and it was us who nearly turned over ... we had fun ...
