dashing to join my sweet Thelma for a "selfie" ...

... at the Atlantic edge of the Burren. I had seen nature documentaries and had read about this amazing glaciokarst landscape centred in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland. That is what inspired me to suggest this trip to Thelma (also thinking of the Aran Islands and other natural and historic sights), and she was as keen as me, so we had great fun together (we checked out the ancient dolmens too in The Burren). In this picture you can see the typical limestone pavement of this area. We regularly took pictures of ourselves in such desolate places by setting the camera on timer and me dashing back quickly to Thelma - sometimes I wasn't quite quick enough, like here.
