our tulips appear each year in early spring ...

... and they produce these lovely flowers around the first half of April. This is how the one of us who sat on this side of the bench saw the tulips when looking down and left of the bench (like me in the previous picture Thelma took of me - you can see her shadow in that photo). I imagine that these tulips may have been planted next to this bench on purpose by the relatives of the lady who the bench is meant to remind of.
