Nagyvázsony is a village approximately 15 km (9 mi) north of Lake Balaton. This is where we visited Kinizsi's Castle, a 14th-century fortification. Kinizsi's sarcophagus can be found in the castle chapel. Kinizsi is one of the great Hungarian heroes (both in actual history and in literature). He is famous for his victory over the Ottomans in the Battle of Breadfield in 1479. He reputedly never lost a battle. He is also famous for his legendary strength.
