Thelma at the edge of the precipitous canyon of the Gulfoss waterfall

In Iceland over the 2004-2005 New Year. This waterfall is amazing - the next picture of ours shows it as we saw it. I had to lighten up this picture a lot to see Thelma's face, because even in the middle of the day, it was dusk here at this latitude. The temperature was down to at least -10°C or lower, so the restaurant close by, in the middle of nowhere, was very handy (see the picture of the lamb stew - two clicks away via "Next picture").
