the jigsaw puzzle that will never be completed

During the Covid restrictions, Thelma started doing jigsaw puzzles in January 2021. She said she enjoyed them. She completed the first one in about February 2021, and ordered a second one ... this one. As she was making headway with it, the illness started manifesting itself, the diagnosis arrived, and from then on, she lost the will and spirit to continue with this second puzzle. This is how it will remain forever, reminding me of how the initial joy turned into terrible hopeless suffering, which I witnessed daily without being able to help. ... (She received a new jigsaw puzzle for her birthday from someone later in 2021 as well, but she didn't even feel like opening that one ...)
