in Athens on the Acropolis

From Las on 27th October 2021 in Athens on the Acropolis

Behind Thelma, in the far distance, you can see "the Hill of the Muses" (actually, "Mouseion Hill"), a.k.a. Philopappos Hill (modern Greek: Philopappou Hill). The hill is crowned by a marble monument (just about visible in this picture - just above Thelma's sweet curly head) to a Roman consul from Asia Minor, Gaius Julius Antiochus Epiphanes Philopappos. We climbed up that hill with Thelma and had a close look at the monument. The next two photos were taken on that hill. Click on "next picture". In Athens we perused all ancient sites and monuments and tried all kinds of ice cream (several times). A small note: I have always loved the way she stood for a pose like here - there's something so innocent and demure about it - like a sweet little girl in front of class.
